Malcolm Campbell Obituary

CAMPBELL Malcolm Byron "Bud" Malcolm Byron "Bud" Campbell, age 70, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. He was born on May 25, 1938, in Flint, Michigan, to Malcolm and Marian (Smith) Campbell. Bud attended Henry Ford's Greenfield Village Scotch Settlement School and Cranbrook Academy. He earned his BA, MA and PhD from the University of Michigan. Bud retired Professor Emeritus, BGSU, in the Colleges of Education and Higher Education. He married Rosie (Zuver) Campbell on May 31, 1986, and she survives him. He is also survived by a brother, Hugh Campbell of California and a daughter, Courtney Saxton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Alycia Campbell. His great passions were teaching, traveling, reading, and writing. His years as an educator afforded him opportunities to travel and teach in England, Russia, Brazil, Italy, Australia, and numerous other countries. He was reputed for his expertise in aiding writers with their publications and was sought as a book reviewer. Bud served on numerous boards and participated in many organizations, a few being: American Civil War Museum of Ohio, Tiffin Developmental Center, Wood County Historical Society, The Little Red School House on BGSU campus and The Zimmerman School. A memorial celebration of life is planned for Tuesday, September 30, at 12:30 p.m., at The Simpson Building, 1291 Conneaut Ave, Bowling Green, Ohio. A light luncheon will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be given to The American Civil War Museum of Ohio, Tiffin Developmental Center, or Wood County Historical Society. Private burial is in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity, Ohio on Saturday. Dunn Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.dunnfuneralhome.com
