Margaret Younkman Obituary

Margaret (Hermann) Younkman

Margaret Keyes (Hermann) Younkman passed away peacefully on August 18, 2021, in West Bloomfield, Michigan. She was born January 29, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, to Walter and Theresa Hermann and attended Rosary Cathedral Parish and Central Catholic High School '52. She met her husband, Arnold F. Younkman, in high school, and they celebrated 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2013.

Margaret's focus and joy throughout life centered around family. Sweet and kind in nature, Margaret enjoyed the many friendships she and Arnie made over the years, time spent at Clark Lake and Boyne Mountain, and years in Florida. In her final years, she continued to be an avid Michigan football fan and card player.

Margaret is survived by her children, Dan (Lori), Anne (Michael) Sustersic, Larry (Christine), Mary Ellen (Halim) Sheena, and Megan; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Rita (Mel) Reinhart. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathleen Flynn, Carol Bick, Mary Jo Walsh and Ruth Shrader; and brother, James. The family wishes to thank Mary and her family for the exceptional attention given to Mom over the last several years.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd, Toledo, OH, Friday, September 17, 2021, at 10:30 am.
