Marilyn Rose Obituary

Marilyn Ann Rose

Marilyn Ann (Toth) Rose, age 80, passed away January 19, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 23, 1943, to the late George and Lola (Matyok) Toth. Marilyn graduated from Central Catholic High School in Toledo in 1961, and in 1965, went on to work for Conagra Foods, formerly Hunt-Wesson Foods, for 43 years. In 1978, she married Thomas A. Rose, who preceded her in death in 2000.

Marilyn lived in Toledo and Oregon through most of her life, eventually moving to Columbus in 2013. She was known for being generous and keeping her home clean and just the way she wanted it, although her choices would change regularly. Her mind was sharp, and she kept in communication with family and friends on a daily basis. She loved to spend time and play cards with friends and neighbors, listen and talk about music, watch and discuss sports, as well as discuss current events and politics.

Surviving Marilyn is her brother, Paul (Sue) Toth; children, Steve (Shelley) Gruetter, Michelle (Jamie) Rose-Liwo, and Thomas J. Rose; grandchildren, Airman Michael Liwo, Kaitlyn and Devin Gruetter, Anthony, Libbey and Sophie Rose; extended family, Eric (Lynn) Toth, Robyn (Toth) McArthur, Deryk Morrison, Erica (Nathan) Barrett Morrison, Brittany Morrison, Cierra Morrison; and great-grandchildren, Monti Brown, Alaric and Adelaide Barrett Morrison.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of funeral services at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
