Mark S. "Uncle Steve"



Mark "Steve" DeCant, 62, of Erie, MI, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at St. Anne Mercy Hospital. Born October 29, 1952, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Harvey and Dorothy (Dibert) DeCant. He was a 1970 graduate of Mason Consolidated High School. Steve was employed as a foreman by the Canadian National Railroad (Detroit Toledo Shoreline Railroad) for 35 years, retiring in 2005.

He is survived by his loving nephews and nieces, Terry, Bruce (Jean) and Ryan Clark, Kimberly (Greg) Clark-Schweitzer; 8 great-nieces and nephews, and 14 great-great-nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Clark and brother, David DeCant.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman), Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2015, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, MI. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.

sorry for lost i knew him from the willows i was off and did nt know that he past away i worked in the willow as the dietary aide has was always very polite
