Mark Ellis Obituary

Mark Edmund "Bubba" Ellis

Mark Edmund "Bubba" Ellis, age 52, of Oregon, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021. Mark was born to Edmund "Ed" Ellis and Sandi (Hibbits) Bailey on July 10, 1968, in Oregon. He graduated from Clay High School in 1986.

Mark was a family man, and an excellent one at that. He adored every moment he got to spend with them. He was a firefighter and EMT for the city of Oregon for 20 years, and was just promoted to acting Assistant Battalion Chief for Station 42. He enjoyed teaching the new recruits the ins and outs of being a firefighter, and he was good at it. Mark also loved vacationing and spending time in Tennessee.

Mark is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Michael (Felicity), Joshua, and Sarah; mother, Sandi Bailey; step-mother, Eileen; siblings, Lynn (Matt), Scott (Michelle), Mindy (Jerry), Jeff (Jada), and Mark David (Rachael); in-laws, Beverly and Dennis Smith; his fur babies, Kody, Gunner, and Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Ellis.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 2-7 p.m., with a Firefighter's Service at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, June 18, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Hope Community Church in Oregon. Burial will follow at Clay Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Mark's family to assist with funeral expenses.
