Markiese. Man.. What happened? Why you leave us so soon? Why it have to be you? Why couldnt it be someone else? You didn't do anything to deserve what happened! Last night, i had a dream of the day i met you. It was at Woodward, 2005. I was a freshman and you had little tight puffs in your hair running up and down the stairs and halls yelling "FRESH MEAT". Then i heard a loud boom and woke up. This aint fair! All i keep asking God, is WHY? I remember when it was Spirit Week of 2005, it was cross dress day, you were wearing a cheerleaders uniform! I told you that you made a beautiful cherrleader and you laughed. I miss your laugh, smile, everything. the only time i get to see you is if i look at your face on the my shirt hangin g up in my closet. I cry so much because i dont understand why it had to be you. I will always remember you Markiese! Miss you!

It was fun, playing all the little kid games when we were younger. It felt like you were the big brother I never had. Our names even rhymed lol. I'm not going to say R.I.H. because I know you won't be resting. You're going to be dancing around like always and smiling down and watching over us. Markiese, one of my dear play sons. You are an additional ray of light and love in your beautiful new home. The Lord has such a wonderful place prepared for you young man. I am so proud to say that my family and I were obliged to know you. The many days and quite a few nights when you and Joseph would come over and visit Jewell. Have so much fun and end up spending the night! Times when yall were on a mission goin'... somewhere and needed to warm up, cool off, rest or get a ride. I was proud to be here for you all. I love you and respect you as I do my daughter, you are my son's. Have been for many years. Always respectful and knew you were at home. Enjoy your new one!! It's gotta be better. Give God and the angels a shout out for my son Julian (who used to bug yall).Almost 11 years old, and ask them to protect him and help him with all that he is angry and troubled about. Please?! Matter of fact, shout out for all of us. I'll miss you play son, Markiese. What a terrible loss for us.

I had the distinct pleasure of having Markiese in my sunday school class for a period of time. He was attentive, bright and funny. I must admit that I am shocked and somewhat taken. My sincere condolences to his grandmother, Vernita Wilson and entire family.

Markiese...a wonderfully smart, clever, and sensitive young soul that I had the priviledge of teaching at Cherry School. During Markiese's fifth grade year, he'd try to get away with his shenanigans. I'd have to stop by to talk to Mom and Dad a few times a week. ........my prayers will always be with the Chandler family.
