Dear Dick, I was so sorry to hear about Marnie. She created a life of beauty and love and joy, and our early friendship brings back so many happy memories, shared with you, the Goellners and other friends.

All of us young, like Don and I building our first homes, having children, going to Kelly's Island, and always, filled with such joy.

What fun we had, sledding down your backyard mountain, playing bridge into the early morning, and being together.

Remember the year we all saved our pennies so conscientiously to afford a road trip to New York City? Not your thing, but you were a good sport about it. Somewhere, there is a photo of all of us having dinner in an expensive New York nightclub.

I know Don would share my thoughts, and others, of your time together in the army.
Love to you and your dear family.
