Martin Dumas Obituary

DUMAS Martin F. Martin F. Dumas, 57, of Toledo, died Sunday, September 17, 2006, at Northwest Ohio Hospice Center in Perrysburg. Martin, the son of Malcolm and Virginia (Riel) Dumas, was born on January 4, 1949. Martin raised a family as a CSX Hocking Valley Conductor, a Toledo Area LPN since 1972, and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Community. Martin was always easiest to find surrounded by a group of people; whether on a barstool, on the couch at home, or among family, Martin loved regaling anyone who would listen to stories about growing up in the North End. Anyone who knew him would picture him easiest with a smile on his face and a laugh on his breath. Martin would rest easiest knowing that his survivors remembered him as a generous man, often implementing his amateur carpentry skills to make items from Pinewood Derby Cars to baby cradles. Martin is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Hunter) Dumas; his children, Damien (Colleen), Rachel, Justin, Alexia, Jonathan, Claire, and Julie and his grandchildren, Jacob and Jacqueline. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, MaryAnn (Steve) Suto, Michael (Molly), Margie (Larry) Heckman, Gerry (Peggy), Marlene, Mark (Marianne), and Madonna (Robert) Arellano. Friends may call Wednesday, September 20, 2006, from 2 until 8 p.m. at the Hanneman Funeral Home, 1757 Tremainsville Rd. (at Sylvania Ave) 419-474-8761, where a Scripture Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home and will continue with the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Catherine of Siena Church at 10:00 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Foundation for Life. www.hannemanfh.com

To Marty's Family, You have my heartfelt sympathy and prayers. I worked with Marty on 5C at St. V's back when I was an LPN. He was such a joy to work with, helpful and always had a joke to tell. He made our workday shorter and and all the patients loved him too. Our loss is heaven's gain . God bless you all

To my longest/very best friends/family:

I cannot tell you in words how sad I am for your loss. Not only was "Francis" (hehe) a dad to you, but he was a dad to me when we were growing up. I will miss him dearly. Hold strong to his memory, I know I sure will (remember when he told me my mom got an "F" in sex when we were in front of the Capitol Bldg on our 8th grade DC trip?). My heart goes out to you all...what a wonderful family he has (I know I am certainly blessed to have you in my life).

With all my love and support.

I LOVE YOU, Dumas family.

With Deepest Sympathy.
