Mary Dibling Obituary

Mary Catherine (Gavigan) Dibling

Maumee's "Uptown Girl" as coined by the late Dennis McCarthy, died February 27, 2018 at the age of 90. Mary spent 40 years in uptown Maumee, working in the family business, Dibling Floor Covering. She retired at age 80. Mary was a longtime treasurer of MUBA and involved in the many community projects sponsored by the business group. Other past involvements include the Maumee Senior Center, St. Joseph's Church, Maumee River Yacht Club, and served as president of St. John's High School Mothers Club. Mary was a proud 1945 graduate of Central Catholic High School and attended Mary Manse College. She taught third grade at St. Joseph before leaving to help run the family business

Mary and Edward James "Jim" were married in 1949 at the Rosary Catherdral. He passed in 2001. She is survived by Mary Beth (David) Rumer, Tom (Dianne) Woggon and Michael (Karen); grandchildren, Katie Wiercinski, Bridget and Brian Rumer, Andrew, Matt, Nicole and Ashley Dibling and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family would to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio, and the best friend anyone could have, Denisha Jacobs.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 on Friday, March 23, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee, Ohio. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Ursuline Convent in Toledo. Online condolences may be given at
