Mary Kiss Obituary

Mary L. Kiss

Mary was born on October 2, 1937, to Arthur and Celeste Yeupell (LaBute). She was raised in the Bayshore/Stadium Road area along with her sister, Elizabeth Rodenhauser, and brother, Robert A Yeupell. She graduated from Clay High School in 1956. While attending Clay High School she met her husband and love of her life, Robert J Kiss. They married on November 24, 1956, in St. Ignatius Church. They moved to Walbridge Ohio in September 1959 where they raised four children.

As a founding member of St. Jerome Parish, she attended church regularly and sang in the choir on Sundays. She took Judo lessons, learned to downhill ski and was an avid bowler. She bowled regularly on leagues and in tournaments receiving recognition from the Ohio USBC Women's Bowling Association for participation in over 30 Championship Tournaments.

She was a long-time member of CCYC and served as the President of the Ladies Auxiliary. Weekends on the water in the family boat (Kiss Kraft) is something she truly enjoyed. When her grandchildren arrived, the weekends on the water changed to weeks, and sometimes even months at the family cottage on Long Lake in Reading, MI.

She also proudly served as a member of VFW 9963 Ladies Auxiliary and served as President of the Key to the Sea business and professional women's club. She was employed at several companies: The Toledo Blade, Libby Glass, American Ship Building, where she christened the Roger M Kyes in 1973. She co-owned with her husband RJ's Tavern and retired from Sun Refining.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Robert J Kiss; children, Lorraine M Collins (Donald), Regina L Yeupell Kiss (Bryon), Robert A Kiss (Robin), Scott A Kiss (Jenny); grandchildren, Matthew Kiss, James Kiss, Kyle Yeupell Kiss, Kaitlin Kiss and Faith Wright; great-grandchildren, Carter and Cassidy; brother-in-law, John Beehner, Jacksonville FL, sister-in-law, Carolyn Kiss, Concord, CA; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sister; brother, in-laws, Julius and Dorothy Kiss; sister-in-law, Judith Beehner; brother-in-law, James Kiss; nephew, Daniel Yeupell.

The family will receive friends at Walker Funeral Home-Walbridge Chapel, 701 Main St. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Color Guard walk through by VFW 9963 at 7:30 p.m.
