A Friend

September 28, 2025

I was a student at North Canyon, not one of hers, but she still managed to make a difference. I acted out a lot. She was the only one who stood up against my bullying every time she saw it. I never forgot her and the way she made me think about what really made a person strong. She once pointed at a kid in a wheelchair and told me HE was strong. I never forgot that. I just got her name from an old yearbook to look her up and found this. Her words stuck with me. It didn't show, but when I grew into an adult this was part of what helped shape me. I think she would be proud of the person I became. I wish I could have shown her my gratitude.
