Mary Lynn

Mary Lynn Spaulding, formerly of Toledo, OH, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012, in Colorado Springs, CO, where she had lived for most of the last forty years. She was born in Cleveland, OH, to David C. Spaulding, Jr. and Alice Metcalf Spaulding on October 29, 1938. They soon moved to Toledo, OH, where she grew up.

Mary graduated from University of Toledo with a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology. She married Donald F. Schaarschmidt (later divorced) and worked as a medical technologist until her children were born. Most recently she worked at MSI as a microfilm technician in Colorado Springs.

Mary loved gardening, family, music, art, spirituality, and animals, especially her Schipperke named Brita.

She is survived by siblings, JoAnna Umlauf, Betsey DaSilva, and David C Spaulding IV (BobbieJean); children, Steve (Gina) Schaarschmidt, Colorado Springs, Dan (Monica) Schaarschmidt, Burbank, CA, and Susie (Seth) Zisser; grandchildren, Aleyna and Devon, all of Colorado Springs, and extended family.

A small private ceremony is to be held at Namaste Alzheimer Center in Colorado Springs, CO.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Lynn's memory may be made to Namaste Alzheimer Center at 2 Penrose Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
