Mary Vasko Obituary
Mary F. Vasko, 95, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, with her loving daughter by her side. She was born in Waynesburg, Kentucky, on September 9, 1929, to Cody and Sue (Kardos) Sizemore. Mary graduated from Scott High School in 1947, and would marry the love of her life, Joseph J. Vasko Sr., on October 14, 1950. She had a passion for people, always wanting to care for others, invite them in for food and stories or just looking to socialize. Mary spent many years down in Florida managing the gift shop at the Yankee Clipper Hotel. She loved spending time around the water or on the beach in the sun. Mary was a member of Epiphany of the Lord Parish-St. Stephens Catholic Church. She was an animal lover always caring for one of her many dogs. Mary's life and legacy will certainly live on through all of the hundreds of lives that she has touched and impacted. She was a selfless loving woman who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue; and many loving dear friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph J. Vasko Sr.; and son, Joseph J. Vasko Jr.
Friends and family may visit Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., with memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Mary's name may be directed to the Vasko family.

Dear Sue, I'm sending this message to express my deep sympathy upon the loss of your mother. She was always, always kind, fun and welcoming to me and so many others especially during our high school years. I'll never forget a group of us watching Dark Shadows on TV while playing with that little dog, Eric. I'm sorry also for the passing of your brother, Joe. I didn't know of his passing. We have such wonderful memories of Mary, Sus and Joe when we visited them in Florida! She was such a gracious woman who always welcomed us to her home. She was vibrant and had a great sense of humor and smile. I was always jealous about her beautiful tan! Sue, you possess the same energy and dedication as your mother! You are a truly amazing daughter, and your family was so fortunate to have you by their side! We love you and will miss Mary, but her spirit lives in you, Sue! Love, Karen and Jeff Tormoehlen

My deepest sympathy to the loved ones of Mary Vasko . She was a truly special lady . I had the pleasure of working with Mary at the Yankee Clipper in Ft Lauderdale. She was liked by everyone who she met . I loved her and will miss her.
