Michael Barnes Obituary

Michael J. Barnes, 21, of Sylvania, died suddenly on October 30, 2005. Michael had recently moved to Cleveland, OH, to begin working as a manager for Lady Foot Locker in Elyria, OH. Michael is the son of Eddie (fiancee, Irma Torres) Almaraz, of Port Clinton, and parents, Enedelia and Wesley Barnes, of Sylvania.
Michael was a handsome young man with a beautiful smile and a charming personality. He leaves us with many memories. Sports was a favorite for Mike, especially golf. He loved Mexican food, his dad's grilling, listening to classic songs by the Beatles, hanging out by the campfire, but most of all he loved the fact that he shared his birthdate with his father, March 9th. Michael loved all of his family.
Michael is preceded in death by great-great grandmother, Rosario Suarez; great-grandmothers, Andrea Martinez and Estella Quinones; an uncle, Rudy Almaraz and an aunt, Judy that died as an infant. He is survived by grandparents, Alejandro and Rosa Quinones, of San Antonio, TX, and Trinidad Soto, of Clay Center, OH. He will be missed by brothers and sisters, dozens of aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, and lots of cousins from all over the United States.

My sister, Brittany, and I both went to school with Mike. We also worked with him at Bill Knapp's years ago. He was always smiling, and was one of the nicest guys I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I am very sorry for your loss, he will be greatly missed.

"Mikey B", There is so much I can say about you right now and if you were here you would agree because you know how much I love to talk and you know how I loved sending you texts everyday and calling you at your store. We all miss you so very much and you brought so many smiles and so much laughter into our lives. All your buddies at Lady Foot Locker #6576(your home store that you started at in Toledo) and Lady Foot Locker #6378 (the store in Elyria, Ohio that you took when you got promoted to Manager not too long ago) We are all so proud of your accomplishments and we will never forget you little buddy...May you rest in peace.

Mike was a remarkable person with an amazing personality. Mike had the ability to light up any room with his magnificent smile and his great sense of humor. He was taken away from us way too early but he is in a better place now. As long as we have the memories he will never really leave us. Rest In Peace Mike, we will miss you.

My condolences go out to you and your family at this difficult time.

It's hard to believe that he's gone, but I can't think about him without smiling. That's the kind of guy he was, and we'll always remember him as such.

Catch ya later, Corporal Barnes.

My older children, Dickey and Katie, both knew and "hung out" with Mike. They have many fun memories and Mike was a "regular" at our home in Sylvania before we moved to Florida last year.

There is nothing worse than losing a child. From all of our family to yours, our heartfelt sadness and condolences.

Mike was an amazing guy. I will never forget the way he looked as if you were on the cover of GQ almost daily. He had the ability to make anyone laugh and his laughter will be greatly missed. I have so many memories to look back on with Mike and I am greatful to have had the opportunity to have him in my life. I wish more than anything I could make it home for Friday but I am unable to. I miss you already Mikey and you will forever have a place in my heart!

Mike was a wonderful friend and a joy to be around. He was always smiling and happy, and appreciated those who loved him very much. I will never forget his laugh or the way his eyes used to light up whenever he got excited. He is going to be missed greatly. We love you Mikey. May you rest in peace.
