Michael Duhaime Obituary

DUHAIME Michael F. Michael F. Duhaime, 65, of Oregon, Ohio has gone home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2007, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 3, 1942, to Frederick and Jane (Wozniak) Duhaime. Mike was employed with the Toledo Police Department for 28 years retiring in 1995. In addition Mike was a tennis coach for Whitmer High School for 5 years. As an avid tennis player, Mike loved playing on the courts whether here in Toledo or in Naples, Florida. Above all, he treasured the friendships he made and was totally amazed by the love and support he received from so many. However the love of his life was his family, who lifted his spirits daily and nurtured him emotionally. His grandchildren adored their paw paw, because he was always a captive audience and laughed the loudest at their antics. He was our husband, best friend, father and paw paw and we look forward to seeing him again. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Janet; daughter, Dawn (Shawn) Taylor; sons, Keith (Jodi) and Jeff (Ginger); brother, Gary (Dodie) and grandchildren, Erin, Haley, Justin, Ethan, Abigail, Caleb and Aubrey. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, from 2:00 until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Michael's name can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the American Cancer Society.

I haven't seen Mr. or Mrs. Duhaime for a few years, but I was looking forward to driving over to Naples in the near future to introduce them to Little Tony. Mike Duhaime was certainly an important part of my child hood and I was was hoping my son could meet him too. My deepest condolences to the Duhaime family.

One of the greatest blessings, God can give us is the gift of a friend.
Thanks Mike for being a friend to Don and I.
Thanks you for the laughter, for the good times that we shared.
The gates of heaven opened and Mike entered the land of no pain and rest.
Your buddies Don and Ces will now get to spend time with you..
My heart goes out to Jan and family in this difficult time.

Love and many Hugs,

We know there are no words that can ease the grief you are experiencing or the loss you feel. Mike was a pretty terrific person and we will all miss him so much.

Perhaps you can find a small measure of comfort from knowing that the world is a better place because of what Mike brought to it. And that even though he is gone, his spirit lives on and his special kindness still touches others through you Jan, his children and grandchildren.

May God bless you and keep you in his loving arms during this time of such great sorrow and in the days and years to come.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Doug, Kim, Brett and Brittany

To the Duhaime Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mike. Mike always had a smile on his face for everyone. Growing up down the street from all of you was so much fun. I remember when I told him I had to wait three months to take my drivers test due to backlogs in appointments. Mike "fixed" it for me and told them I was his nephew and got me in in two weeks. All of you are in my prayers and God bless all of you.

I worked with Mike in the Juvenile Section at TPD and at Whitmer High School in Security. Myself and John Tharp always called Mike "Bobbie Rydell" and he would always laugh with his good sense of humor. He was a great guy to work with. My sympathies are with your family.

Keith and family,

Sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. It is always difficult to deal with but the fond memories that you have and your faith will help ease the pain. Our prayers are with you.

I didn't know your dad was a Toledo police officer. I'm sure he worked with both my brothers who served on the force also. They retired in 1994.
God be with you .

To My Dearest Friend...Jan, my heart is filled with great sadness for you and your family. I will miss him. Mike was truly a wonderful person and I thought of him as a brother. He was one of those "special people" that God put here on earth for people to share his love and friendship. What a tribute to him that he was loved so much by you and his family and so many friends. I know this is going to be very difficult for you but just remember...he is in a better place now with our Lord and is not suffering anymore. He will always be looking down at you with great love and you will be with him someday. I Love You and you know I will always be here for you at anytime of the day or night whenever you need to talk to someone. Sandy
