Michael James Mitchell, age 68, of Lambertville, MI, died August 13th, 2025, in his home. He was born on May 4, 1957, in Toledo, OH, to James M. and Goldie (O'Neil) Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Sandra Mitchell. In the last year of his life, he shared a special companionship with Brenda Tye, whose presence brought him great happiness.
He was employed at Chrysler/Jeep for more than 30 years.
He was a home and anchor to his children-always steady with his hugs, his deep voice, his wisdom, and his love for each of them. He cherished hunting camp in Clarion, PA, and was known for being impeccably dressed, earning him the nickname 'L.L. Bean' even in the woods. He had a sweet tooth, especially for his late-night ice cream fixes, and enjoyed his lottery scratch-offs, where he always seemed to have a lucky streak.
Survived by his children, Shannon (Mimi) Black, David Mitchell, Carol (Johnny) Sanders, and Stacy (Zachary) Cox; siblings, Tim (Rose) Mitchell and Paulette Sweeney; grandchildren, Brenna, Darius, Zachary, Kincade, Cheyenne, London and Piper; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Rowe, Gary Thompson, and Donald Mitchell; grandchildren, Chelsea Benedict and Tyler Mitchell; and his dog, Molly.
