Michelle Kos Obituary

Michelle M. (Venable) Kos

February 9, 1959 - July 7, 2022

Michelle M. (Venable) Kos, 63, of Walbridge, Ohio, has gone to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 7, 2022. She passed on a date bearing double 7's, symbolizing the guidance of angels â€" a befitting date for a soul who spent her life on Earth guarding over those she loved.

Michelle was born on February 9, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio, to Donald Calvin and Patricia Jane (Hamilton) Venable. She went to Woodward High School, where she would be invited to a party and encounter a shy and quiet boy that would capture her attention straight away. She teased him around friends, loved to ruffle his feathers and would chip away at his quiet exterior one joke at a time. Their first date was a few weeks after first meeting, and their engagement was a few months after that first date. Michelle and Kenneth Kos were wed on July 3, 1982 and would stay happily married and deeply in love for the rest of her life, celebrating their 40th anniversary only a few days ago, surrounded by their children and grandchildren.

Michelle can be described as many, many things â€" a jack of all trades, social butterfly, den mother, protector, guardian, caretaker. She was a nurse's aide, a manager at a tanning salon, worked in taxes, organized certified inspector training seminars, worked at a Kroger's meat market â€" she wasn't afraid to take on any task and would excel in any role she was given. She had a natural talent with people, always knowing what to say to break any type of tension â€" while also knowing when maintain that tension was needed. She was never a stranger; after a single encounter with her, you would know at least one embarrassing fact about her sons or husband and a story that would make you throw your head back in laughter. She was unselfish, attentive, and incredibly caring. Even after retiring her job as a nurse's aide, she would still be requested by her patients due to her incredible quality of care. She was never afraid to volunteer her time and would be the first one to raise her hand to offer her help, especially for church or for the Cherry St. Mission. She always wanted to brighten people's life, as shown by her daily posts of affirmations and optimism on her Facebook page. The world lost such an incredible soul, but her kindness, selflessness, and love will always remain by those who remember her and share her story.

Michelle is survived by her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Kenneth "Kenny" Kos; her sons, Calvin (Renee) Kos and Mackenzie (Kayli) Kos; her grandchildren, Macen Alan Kos, Kali Patricia Kos, Kenzie Star Kos, Adaline Graylee Kos, and Evelyn Renee Kos; her brother, Donald (Andrea) Venable; sister, Denise (Frank) Przybysz; uncle, Robert Venable; aunt, Sharon Hayes; and nieces and nephews, Sarah Jane Venable, Donald Jr. Venable, Melissa Przybysz, and Aimee Przybysz. She was preceded by her parents, Donald and Patricia Venable; uncles, Billy (Georgie) Ryan, Dennis Hamilton, Robert Hamilton, Robert (Shirley) Venable and George Hamilton; her aunts, Georgie (Billy) Ryan, Ruth Bell, and Sharlene Ritz.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 2-8 PM at the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St., Walbridge, Ohio 43465 (419-666-3121). Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 10:30 AM in St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner St., Walbridge, Ohio 43645. Burial will follow in Lake Twp. Cemetery. Memorial donations in her honor can be made to the Cherry St. Mission Ministries or the Historic Church of St. Patrick. Online condolences may be left at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.

I was sorry to hear of another passing of a member of our Stickney School alliance and a very good friend to one and all. My blessings and prayers to go out to her family and loved ones. I will miss her uplifting quotes and words of Hope on Facebook, that kept many of us in thought and laughter, while looking forward to the next most memorable quote. The Lord has another Angel on his side today. We'll miss her dearly.
