Murlin Ducat Obituary
Murlin Leary Ducat, age 94, of Findlay, OH peacefully passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born in Toledo, OH on February 10, 1929, to Leary and Bertha (DeShetler) Ducat. Murlin married his sweetheart, Helen Schoettle, and she preceded him in death in 2013.
Murlin was a Woodward High School graduate. He went on to work as an operator with BP Refinery, retiring after many years of service. Upon retirement, he and Helen moved to Arizona where he enjoyed woodcarving and running. Murlin had a great love for his family and liked to travel.
Murlin is survived by his daughter, Julie Erbland (Ben McCall) of Findlay; eight grandchildren, Angela McClinton, Corey Ducat, Dennis Ducat, Jr., Christine Zambrano, Jennifer Ducat, Elizabeth Ducat, Casey Fairchild, and Paige Ducat; eighteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Bonnie Harrison; daughters-in-law, Martha Ducat, and Kathleen Ducat. He was preceded in death by his father, Leary Ducat; and mother, Bertha Morse; three sons, Larry, Dennis, and Jeffrey Ducat; sister, Elaine Miller; stepbrothers, James Morse and Tom Morse; and stepsister, Joan Goodell.
To honor Murlin's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Hufford Family Funeral Home, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions in Murlin's name may be made to Bridge Home Health & Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, Ohio 45840. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.huffordfh.com.

You are going to be missed grandpa. Yours and my conversations as of late have been really touching. I'm going to miss having dinners with you and hearing you say "mmmm" out of enjoyment, and asking for 2nds. I know you're with grandma, my 2 uncles, and my dad now, and happy as can be. Please tell dad i moss him so much!
