Nancy Oberhauser Obituary

Nancy Kay (Barron) Oberhauser

Nancy Kay (Barron) Oberhauser, died from complications after heart surgery, on February 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 3, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, to Evelyn J. (Staniszewski) and Branson B. Barron. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy, and attended the University of Toledo. She was employed at JL Hudson's, Cub Foods, Seaway Foodtown, and Progressive Furniture.

Nancy was a strong-willed woman who was passionate about her family. She enjoyed many hobbies, such as crocheting and DIY projects, always adding her artistic flair. She and her husband, Ray, enjoyed traveling to different casinos and of course, she loved her daily word games on the computer.

Nancy will be dearly missed by her husband of 46 years, Raymond; sons, Steven, and Michael; her granddaughters, Autumn, and Alexis; her sisters, Sandra (Ed) Sterling, and Susan (Bob) Sochacki; brothers-in-law, Joseph (Janice K. Means) Oberhauser, and Bob Oberhauser; sisters-in-law, Teresa (Rick) Meek, and Peggy (Jerry) Baumgartner; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Barron; aunt, Dolores Staniszewski; grandparents, Alex and Pauline Staniszewski; and in-laws, Fran and Marie Oberhauser.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at St. Joan of Arc Church, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, OH, 43614, at 11:00 a.m., where the family will begin greeting guests at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to the Toledo Arts Commission. Please view and sign our online "guest registry" at

Nancy was a good neighbor who welcomed us when we moved to Willowood. She bought me a humming bird feeder which I will fondly think of her when I see the birds this Spring. She always wanted to share vegetables from the garden and would go door to door distributing them. She will be missed.
