WOLF Naomi Marie Naomi Marie Wolf, 80 years, of Temperance, MI, died Thursday. September 2, 2010 in Windhaven Elder Care Temperance. Naomi was a Bedford Public Schools teacher for almost 40 years teaching elementary grades at Smith Road, Jackman Road and Central Elementary on Douglas Road. For 10 years she was assistant principal at Smith Road School when it first opened. Naomi also taught Religious Education at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance. The daughter of Herbert and Evelyn (Murphy) Wolf, she was born September 15, 1929 in Detroit. Naomi graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1946, received her BA from the former Mary Manse College of Toledo in 1950, her MA in Education from the University of Michigan in 1959, and also attended the University of Toledo, Michigan State University and took additional training at the University of Michigan as an educator. Naomi was a Charter Member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church where she also served as Eucharistic Minister and funeral luncheon chairperson, was past-president and member of the Bedford Education Association, Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, Michigan Education Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Naomi is survived by her dear nieces and nephews, Carroll John (Gerilyn-Kish) Selmek, Janet Selmek, Martin Selmek, Marian (Paul) Schreiber, Greg Selmek and 4 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Herbert Wolf Jr.; sister, Virginia Wolf, and sister, Charlotte (Emil) Selmek. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 till 9 p.m. in the Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI, where Scripture services will be held at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church where she will lie in state in the Church Narthex at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Erie, MI.
