Odella Leow Obituary

Odella M. Leow

01/23/1928 - 06/28/2022

Odella M. Leow, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Elizabeth Scott Community, in Maumee, Ohio. Odella was a graduate of Napoleon High School and continued her education at the University of Toledo to obtain her Bachelor of Science in nursing, in 1948. Odella was a long-time member of the Church of the Cross, Flower Hospital Guild, and Bill Glass Prison Ministries. Odella dedicated her life to following Jesus. She was passionate about her faith and spent much of her time and effort sharing His word with others. She enjoyed going on mission trips and was able to travel the world because of them. She traveled to India, Egypt, Israel, and the Dominican Republic four times. Odella was a loving mother and grandmother. She especially cherished spending time with her five grandchildren, all at once. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and quilting. She also found relaxation in bird watching, and visiting lighthouses.

Odella M. Leow was born on January 23, 1928, the daughter of Carl and Marion (Stenger) Ingle. Odella married George Leow on September 6, 1952, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Jack (Linda) Leow and Warren (Karen) Leow; grandchildren, Stephanie (Joe) Engh, Caitlin Leow, Jackie Leow, James (Yuniel) Leow, and Aaron (Hannah) Leow; and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, those preceding her in death include two brothers, Edwin and Donald Ingle; and one granddaughter, Alicia Leow.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Mike Denman officiating. Visitation will be held an hour before the service, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Dear Odella's Family, Your mom, grandmother was a long time friend of our mom, Fern Kieffer. They became friends during nurses' training at Toledo Hospital and that friendship continued through the rest of my parents' lives. My mom's world got very small in her last years but Odella visited her wherever she was living. After her death, Odella remained in contact with our family. Odella demonstrated what a true friend is. Our family extends condolences to yours.

The Flower Hospital Guild will miss Odella and her kind, warm, giving self. She was a past president of the Guild, always helping when she could. Later she became treasurer for several years. She also volunteered in the Flower Guild Gift Shop. Odella often accompanied myself to meetings and or dinners. I was thankful for her knowledge and ideas. Since she retired a few yeara go, we have missed her precious smile. I, we, will miss you Odella. Blessings to the family.
