I can still hear your laugh, Pat - the memory brings both tears and a smile to my face. I think of you often, and miss and love you always.

Just seen this today. I was a neighbor to Pat many years ago. She was such a sweet lady and would jump in to help when she could. I tried to return the favors but it seemed as though she always had me beat. One funny story I was working on a project with spray foam and the straw at the end shot off of the can. I naturally tried to catch the foam with my hands. It was also fast drying stuff to boot. As this stuff was hardening on my hands I was home alone the only place I could turn was to Pat. As embarrassing as this was I ran over and beat on her door with my elbow. She came to the door and said "Oh my" she said meet me in the garage. She had to cut as much of the foam off of my hands as she could delicately using a razorblade. After that we went to gasoline, turpentine, paint thinner and anything else we could think of to eat away at what was remaining. After I moved away I would occasionally stop by and we would talk for a long while. She was such a sweet lady and had a big heart for animals. The local squirrels as well as her prize possession Gigi her beagle.
Rest up in Heaven Pat!

Pat was an amazing person. The love and support she gave to me during the time of my Uncle Ken's death meant so much to me. Yes Pat, I am still ok. We have another angel looking over us now. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.

I treasured my friendship with Pat, one that neither time nor distance apart could diminsh. It began with my being hired at Toledo Mental Health Center in 1985. Pat was at TMHC so long that she could, and often did, fill various roles - including serving as the acting Client Rights Advocate. When I was hired in that position Pat became my mentor, not only showing me the physical layout of the huge campus but, more importantly, describing client and staff personalities so I could avoid pitfalls.
When I told Pat I was getting married she welcomed my new husband with one of her home-cooked Polish dinner in her basement, as was her tradition! We didn't see each other these last several years, given my moving away, but we always stayed in touch with calls and letters. And when I hadn't called or written for a while she would send one of her typically abrupt messages or cards - and then, when I called after being "spanked" she would laugh as soon as she heard my voice, to let me know all was forgiven. The last letter I sent her, just recently, contained huge blown-up images of my son, daughter-in-law, and baby granddaughter so she could (hopefully) see them, given her advancing macular degeneration, a condition she deeply resented.
Pat, I know you were ready to go and so for your sake I am glad God called you home, although I will miss you always. I am glad you are reunited with your mom, Shirley, and Tony because I know how much you missed them. Your friendship was such a gift, Pat, one that I will treasure, along with your memory, forever. As we always ended our calls and letters - I love you.
