Phillip Brondes Obituary

Phillip S. Brondes, Sr.

February 7, 1931 - January 11, 2022

Phillip S Brondes, Sr., 90, of Perrysburg, Ohio went home peacefully surrounded by his family, to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Tuesday. January 11, 2022. He was born February 7, 1931 in Toledo Ohio, to Donald and Helen Brondes. He proudly served our country in the US Navy and went on to study at Duke University.

In 1954, he married the love of his life, MaryAnn Dama of Youngstown, Ohio, the mother of his two children, Phillip Jr. and Elizabeth Ann "Beth". In 1956, Phillip joined his brother Don in the family automotive business. Together, brother Don and brother Phil put Brondes Ford on the map, with their legendary TV commercials that are still remembered by many to this day.

Phillip and MaryAnn ultimately retired to Florida and enjoyed sailing, tennis, golf and fishing with family and good friends. After being widowed for a number of years, Phillip was fortunate to meet Joyce (Fels) Fisher Zammit, a loving and trusted companion. They married in 2004, and spent many happy years in Key Largo, Florida at the Ocean Reef Club.

He will be remembered as a man of faith, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, loyal friend, business leader and mentor.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wives; his daughter; his brother; and many close friends. He is survived by his son, Phil Brondes, Jr. (Michelle); grandsons, Connor Brondes and Christian Sagert (Danielle Olsson); daughter-in-law, friend and confidant, Lisa Brondes; niece, Shelly Brondes Wiemer (Jan); Joyce's children, Steven Fisher, Julie Fisher, and Tracy Sallah, their children, their grandchildren; and not to be forgotten his dog, Picasso.

The family would like to thank Beth Dunlap, Barb Katakis and all the caregivers at Mercy Health Perrysburg, Kingston Perrysburg and Kingston Sylvania RPU. May God Bless you all.

A memorial service will be held August 11, 2022 at Cedar Creek Church Perrysburg, Ohio at 1 p.m. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133).
