Raymond Doran Obituary
Raymond "Ray-J" Frances Doran, age 90, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2018. He was the husband of Lloyd Carol (Emmert) Doran. They shared 62 wonderful years of marriage together.
Born on August 16, 1927 in Lowell, MA, he was the son of Frances and George Doran. He was the second eldest of 9 children who were raised in West Toledo. He served in the United States Army and was employed at The Devilbiss Company until his retirement.
Ray was a proud member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish and Holy Name Society. He loved being at his cottage on Black Lake in Northern Michigan where he enjoyed fishing and golf. Anyone who he came in contact with Ray-J was graced by his sense of humor and infectious smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hank, George, Jerry, Jim, Mick, and sister, Eleanor
He is survived by spouse, Loyd Carol; children, Timothy Ray (Ann), Tracy Carol, and Ilene Duncan; grandchildren, Becky Doran (Larry Cready), Rachel Doran, Nick Doran (Johanna), Joshua Kellar Doran; great-grandchildren, Braeden, Kierra Rae, and Jameson Ray; the family pet, Darby; brothers, Richard and Joseph Doran.
Ray's family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at The Toledo Hospital, Franciscan Center, and Ebeid Hospice Center for the excellent care that he received.
Friends are invited to visit from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Ave. where a scripture service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church where the Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monsignor Michael Billian Officiant. Burial and military honors will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Holy Name Society, 2240 Castlewood Drive, Toledo, Ohio 43613. To send his family online condolences, please visit

It is a great sorrow to loose great parents when they pass on. I see the love of my mother reflected in my young daughter and that sorrow fades away. I did not know Mr. Doran, but I remember walking with his son Tim and friends, around Blessed Sacrament and Start High neighborhood. I just wanted to give my deepest condolences to your family.

Mr. Doran.. Ray. you were blessed with your multiple brothers and sister. It was a very special time to rub elows with you and all of them. Now, you have to bring some of them back to order
