Raymond JOHNSON Obituary

JOHNSON Raymond W. Raymond W. Johnson, age 94, of Walbridge, died peacefully Thursday, December 9, 2010. He was born in Toledo to Harry and Inez (Ayers) Johnson on September 15, 1916. He was employed with Wills Trucking where he drove truck for many years. Ray enjoyed many many years at his cottage in Marblehead, Ohio, where he enjoyed fishing regularly in his beloved boat "Judean". Ray was always the first to offer help and the last to leave when there was work still to be done. He helped his family to obtain their dreams and worked hard to see that they did not fail. He was the Patriarch of our family and no one will be able to fill his shoes with his strength and advise. He will be greatly missed. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth and son, Bub. He is survived by his daughter, Judy (Lester) Sparks of Swanton; daughter-in-law, Marylou Johnson; grandchildren, Laureen Johnson, Scott Johnson, Rhonda and Jeff Moore, JoAnn and Jerry Anderson and Randy Sparks; great-grandchildren, Renee Sparks, Bradley Moore and Steven Moore, Allison Sparks, and Henry and Alice Anderson and great-great grandson, Ti-derion. Friends will be received on Monday, December 13, 2010, from 2-9 pm in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 701 N. Main St. Walbridge (419-666-3121) where services will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at 1 P.M. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
