Rena Adell



Rena Adell Kettle, age 93, of Perrysburg, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee, OH. She was born on May 28, 1922, in Nocona, TX to Cecil C. and Oda Fay (Gray) Menasco, the oldest of 4 children. On November 14, 1942, she married Donald G. Kettle Sr. in Wichita Falls, TX and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1994. She was always bright, inquisitive and industrious. She graduated from Prairie View High School and attended Nurses Training school in Wichita Falls, Texas, becoming a registered LPN. Adell and Don married while he was in training at Sheppard Air Force Base. Following World War II, they moved to Northwest Ohio and raised their family.

Adell worked in the recovery room at the former Riverside Hospital in Toledo, where she was able to realize her nursing goals. She was a wonderful caregiver to family and friends. Adell was a former member of Moline United Methodist Church and a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Luckey, Ohio.

Adell was the beloved mother of Donna Farmer, Donald Kettle Jr., Kathleen (James) MacLeod, Keith (Teresa) Kettle; 9 grandchildren, Laurie Limes, Steven Farmer, Phillip Farmer, Alanna Winchester, Caitlin Horton, Erica Winchester, Tyler Kettle, Travis Kettle, Leigh Kettle; 11 great-grandchildren, Erin Lampe, Molly Getz, Megan Limes, Emily Limes, Rory Farmer, Quinten Farmer, Cassandra Farmer, Toby Farmer, Sienna Morehouse, Gwen Morehouse, Adelaide Horton and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Carter Lampe, Claire Lampe. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Don; brothers, Cecil (Jr.), Calvin; sister, Ardnella (Nan) and son-in-law, Gerald "Jerry" Farmer.

A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at 11 a.m. from Zion United Methodist Church, 525 Krotzer Ave., Luckey, OH. Officiating will be Rev. Lyle Shiffert. A bereavement luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the memorial services. Interment will be at a later date in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey, OH. Consideration for memorial contributions are to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Zion United Methodist Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Marsh Funeral Home, Luckey, OH.
