The son of John and Stella, he was born August 11, 1933, in Toledo. Doc was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and St. Louis University where he also obtained his DDS degree. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a dentist and was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant in 1961. He married the love of his life, Julia Farkas, on August 20, 1955. He was a member of Brisson Society at St. Francis De Sales High School where he also supported his children's athletic endeavors. When he was not giving of himself he enjoyed wood working and playing golf. Dr. Lewandowski was a wonderful man. Twenty five years ago my father was dying of cancer, we had Hospice at home, and he could not leave the house. Dr. Lewandowski made a house call so my father wouldn't be in pain. I can't tell you how happy my father was.

Doc was my AA sponsor from 1990 till 1993. He was honest and very nurturing when I needed his understanding and patience. Julie and family took me in as one of the family for the holidays and where very loving and warm. Doc Jr. was even my dentist. I moved to Adrian Mi. in 1994 and lost contact but when I moved back to Toledo in 2001 I saw Doc when I was working at Meijers in Maumee in 2007. It was a great few moments recalling the past. May Doc rest in peace and my sincere condolences to Julie and the family.

What an honor it was to have met Doc in the late '80s. I was soon invited to share time with him and his family at family functions. I will fondly remember the many golf outings I played in with Doc and always cherish his sense of humor, for he always had a joke to tell. My prayers go out to Mrs. Lewandowski, Juliana and the rest of his family.

"PaPa Doc," thank you for your love, your jokes, your laughter, your celebration of family and friends and especially for the Pokemon for Dustin's 10th birthday! All my love - your "adopted son" Brian.
