Richard E. "Richie", IV
Richard E. Wetzel, IV, 18, of Genoa, Ohio passed away day, November 27, 2012, at Mercy St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Richie was born in Oregon, Ohio on August 10, 1994 to Richard E. Wetzel III and Mildred I. Fox. He was 2012 graduate of Genoa High School where he ran cross country. Richie was currently employed with Blue Beacon Truck Wash and in his spare time, he enjoyed riding bikes, snowmobiling and collecting dragons.
Richie is survived by his father, Richard; mother, Mildred (Jeff) Rupp; siblings, Nick Fox, Krystianna (Joe) Daniel, Jonathan Wetzel, Laryssa Rupp and Wyatt Wetzel; grandparents, Jennifer Wetzel, Carol and Jim Doty; great-grandfather, Paul Ackerman along with many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and special cousin, Haley. Richie was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richard E. Wetzel, Jr. and James R. Fox; brother, Eddie Wetzel; aunt, Jessika Fox and great-grandmother, Lois Deimling.
Family and friends may visit from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and Monday in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Life Connections of Northwest Ohio.

Richie, you were always the kid down the street who ran and played with your brother and that I could always count on when I looked out the window you'd be riding your bike down the street. Then I seen you transition from a kid to teenager and halfway to being a man. I was proud of the person you became. Kind, respectful, and responsible are the three words that I best remember you as. I'm proud to say I knew you Richie and we will never forget the great boy you started as and the greater man you became.

Richie you now rest peacefully with our Lord and the Angels. You completed your calling, although all who loved you and lives you impacted feel it is much to soon. I pray for peace and comfort for your family and loved ones. I would like to Thank you for the friendship you gave freely to my son Brandon. I remember all the times your name came up about something funny you did at school. I always heard such great comments about you. Brandon said it best you were taken way to soon, and are truely missed already. You have made an impact on Brandon and I'm sure so many others. I watched you grow from a small boy into a wonderful man. The memories of you, Zack, Jon and Derrick hanging out, having campfires, building lego towers, having mud fights, climbing trees, and of course as all of you got older, getting into trouble (but always doing it together)are the most cherished I have. You will be missed more than words can describe. We love you bud. I refuse to say goodbye, so I will say until we meet again.

Richie I remember when you and Joshua and Johnnie would play together all the time. I remember when you went swimming in our pool and loved it. I am so very, very sorry this has happened to you. You were a real inspiration to Joshua Wetzel growing up and we will never forget you.
