Rita Vallejo Obituary
Rita D.
Rita D. Vallejo, 83, of Toledo, OH passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born in San Antonio, TX on May 22, 1930, to Mucio and Delfina (Trujillo) Duran. She retired from St. Charles Hospital in 1995 after 30 years in Laundry Services. Rita was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and active with the Holy Rosary Society.
Rita made every family event a joyous affair and celebration. She loved music, dancing and making cascarones for Easter holiday. Her pastime was giving to those in need always and visiting family and friends. She strongly enforced family values, morals and tradition and was a strong supporter of community services.
Surviving are her husband, Antonio S.; children, Antonio (Mary) Vallejo Jr., Abel R. (Sally Martens) Vallejo, Alvaro D. (Esther) Vallejo Sr., Macaria (Manuel) Zapata, Anna Marie (Rick) Garza, Blanca Estela (Bennie) Perales, Alfredo (Elvira) Vallejo and Alamar (Jesse) Ruiz; 31 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Alvaro Vallejo Jr.; brothers, Senon, Eleno and Ricardo Duran; sisters, Anastacia Rodriguez, Andrea Silva, Soccoro Perez, Cruz Duran and Babarita Duran.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S Coy Road on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, from 2-8 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 550 Clark St., Toledo, Ohio, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy in Rita's name are asked to consider Good Shepherd Church.

Sorry for your loss, she lived a great life and left behind an even greater legacy, I wasn't even a blood grandchild and got a Christmas present every year. Save us a spot grandma Rita and tell Alvaro we miss him dearly. With lots of love and prayers.
