Robert Doran Obituary
Robert Doran, known as "Robbie" or "Rocket Robbie" to his family, friends, and co-workers, passed away on December 15, 2022 at the age of 52. He was an Eagle Scout and a 1988 Graduate of Clay High School in Oregon, OH. He then went on to get an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Owens Technical College, followed by a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He started his career at Boeing, but then joined Lockheed Martin in 2001. He worked in various positions at Lockheed Martin, focusing on propulsion for their Space Systems division. He rose up to the level of Senior Manager for Missiles and Fire Control Hardware Engineering before his untimely death. He was well known for his mastery of the guitar, his skills as a chef, and his love of cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rosemary; as well as his brother, Todd. He is survived by his brother, Ron (Heather) Doran; and his sister, Jodi (Jeremy) Lewton; as well as his nephews and niece, Sean Doran, Logan Lewton, Emmarose Doran, and Noah Lewton.
There will be a Celebration of Life and luncheon on Saturday, January 7th, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall at St Mark Lutheran Church, located at 611 Woodville Rd., Toledo, OH, 43605.
