I had Mr Heider as my PE/Health teacher at WHS; graduating in 78. He had a great personality; always telling jokes. He was a joy to be around; and made you feel special. He will be sadly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing and working with him. May he RIP. Prayers to his family......

Have not seen Mr. Heider in years, but always thought about my old football coaches from time to time. Mr Heider was one of my favorites.
We lost a great guy, not only a good coach but a good friend. My prayers are with him!

Mr. Heider was a former co-worker of mine at Woodward High School.
He had first hour office duty with me. He was thoughtful, kind and supportive. Even though I haven't worked with him since his retirement, I still miss his hilarious jokes that he would tell me every morning while we did roll call of the teachers together. RIP Mr. Heider.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Heider's extended family at this difficult time. Mr. Heider was my J.V. Football coach. Always tough on his players, but honest and fair, and always motivating them to be their best. And always adding some levity to the practice field and game days. One of my favorite teachers and coaches during my time at Woodward High School, for sure. You never knew what was going to come out of his mouth. Mostly something to make you laugh! Rest in peace my good man. I'm sure all who new him are better people for having known him.

Met Bob several years ago. He always had a story to share and was a 'gentle giant' behind that huge frame of his. Shared his hottest pepper he had once and it burst his bubble that I could even eat it. A credit to all that he shared his knowledge with.

RIP Brother Indian & Falcon! Always appreciated you and Tim Witte running pass routes behind Waite's football stadium after summer work to stay in shape for BGSU football. You did not want to do sprints so you graciously offered and ran many, many precise routes. It sure played a big part in my future success at BG.

I remember Bob from high school at Waite when he played football, basketball and ran track. We reconnected again about 30 years ago when I was with Bob Lengel. He added so much fun and had so many stories to share every time we would see him. He will be missed!

Bob was a good friend of mine. We played football together at Waite and worked together at Woodward. We shared more good times than can be listed. We met 60 years ago and remained close friends all of that time. He will be missed!

I was lucky enough to be a student of this amazing man at Woodward High school graduating class of 2002. He would be so proud of these hot hot peppers growing in my garden this year, I actually told my Daughter about him and his pepper challenges about a month ago when these started to turn red. No matter who you were he showed no mercy in challenging you to eat a hot pepper and of course keep it down! Great teacher and coach but also a great man who really knew how to keep a bunch of high schoolers amused in a positive setting no matter what different backgrounds we all came from. He definitely leaves behind a legacy and example of the type of kindness and humanity we need in the world right now ❤ Condolences to the family.
