Robert Glenn "Bob" MUNCH

Robert MUNCH Obituary

MUNCH Robert "Bob" Glenn Robert "Bob" Glenn Munch, went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2012. Bob was born on February 21, 1925 to Sylvester "Ike" and Florence Munch. After graduation from Woodward High School in 1943, he enlisted and served our country in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Santee. Upon his Honorable Discharge he worked and retired from I.E. Dupont after almost 30 years of dedicated employment. Bob loved sports, both playing and coaching and loved rooting on the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Pistons; his favorite teams. He enjoyed his retirement years, gardening, bowling, and playing cards and pool with all his friends at the Sylvania Senior Center, Trilby Senior Center and Eleanor Kahle Senior Center, times with which he truly treasured. He was humble, loyal and had a joke for everything. Bob loved to travel and cherished these times, especially to Florida with his beloved wife and soul mate, Dolly. He was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Dorothy "Dolly"; son, Timothy; sister, Lois Kurtz; brothers, Jim and Tom and ex-wife, Virginia "Ginny". Left to cherish his memories are son, Mike (Sue) Munch; daughter, Nancy (Ken) Sobecki; sister, Mabel Lindhorst; grandchildren, Ken (Sharon) Sobecki, Kory (Stacy) Munch, Kyle (Lindsay) Sobecki, Joel Sobecki, Tracy (John) Garcia, Shane Munch, Jamie Munch, Ryan Munch and cherished great-grand-children, Nolan and Clark Munch, Owen and Kara Sobecki and Nathan and Christina Garcia. Special thanks to Dee, Billie and all his friends from the "Centers". Neighbors, Carol and Dan, and Sue and others have many memories of Dad and his vegetable garden. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Sunset House for their wonderful care. He was quite the "Supervisor". Family and friends may visit Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sylvania Senior Center or Sunset House, Toledo.
