Robert Purvis Obituary

PURVIS Robert J. Robert J. Purvis, 79, of Jackson, Michigan, died Monday, June 30, 2008, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Robert was born July 4, 1928, in Perrysburg, Ohio, to Norris and Georgianna (Hinkle) Purvis. Robert proudly served our country in the United States Army in World War II. On December 19, 1952, he married Martha J. Whitt and she preceded him in death January 12, 1979. Robert worked as a glassmaker for L.O.F. Rossford Plant for over thirty-two years and retired in 1980. Robert was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Eries #3689 of Brooklyn, MI and the V.F.W. Post #5536 of Toledo. Robert was a stock car driver in Fremont and enjoyed boxing and NASCAR. Most of all, Robert enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert is survived by his son, Jeff (Beth) Purvis of Bowling Green, OH; daughter, Kristi (Patrick) Felgner of Toledo, OH; six grandchildren, Becky (Ryan) Lenz, Amanda (James) Hamilton, Michael Purvis, Kelsey, Heather and Cassidy Felgner and three great-grandchildren, Dylan and Austin Hamilton and Katelyn Lenz. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Purvis and his parents. Friends will be received Thursday, July 3, 2008 from 2-9 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held at 8:30 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Craig officiating. Burial will be private. Jeff and Kris,

We are so sorry for the pain and sad days that loosing Uncle Bob is bringing to your families. We are all blessed with some wonderful memories from many holiday gatherings at Grandma's and Granpa's and even your home. Memories are precious. We are so glad to have them. We are thinkng of you.
