Robert Schnapp Obituary

SCHNAPP

Robert J. "Bob" II

Robert "Bob" J. Schnapp II, 70, of Toledo, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Hickory Ridge Rehab facility in Temperance, MI. He served honorably in the Air Force from 1965 to 1969, serving first in Turkey as a Security Specialist and later at Kelly AFB in Texas.

Bob graduated from Central Catholic High School, in 1962, and the University of Toledo, in 1972, with a BA. Bob worked briefly as a Metallurgist at Teledyne CAE, here in Toledo and then started at Dunbar Real Estate as a bookkeeper in 1972, retiring after 35 years, in 2007 as the Secretary/Treasurer of the company.

Bob loved his hobbies: remote controlled planes, trains, and automobiles (just like the movie). He also enjoyed kite flying, beer and wine making and Bonsai trees. Bob had a wonderful time about 6 years ago when he had the opportunity to fly in a vintage bi-plane over the Oregon Coast Line, as well as a ride in a T6 trainer, which he piloted for a short time. Bob was a past member of the Ann Arbor Bonsai Society. He also enjoyed spending time with his best buddy and wife (Mike and Veronica Bueter) at Dewey Lake, where we had many a good argument/discussion over either euchre or hearts.

Bob was proceeded in death by parents, Robert Sr. and Victoria (Faber) Schnapp. Bob leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Marilyn (Miller) Schnapp; his children, Kathleen (Joe) Jeffries; Michael (Susan) Schnapp and Laura (Matthew Franklin) Schnapp; three grandchildren, Connor, Aislinn and Aiden. Bob is also survived by siblings, Peter (Carol), Judy, Martha, John (Cathy) and Paul (Dawn). Bob will be sadly missed by all his family his four legged companion for the last 3 years, Molly Go Lightly.

Friends may visit on Monday, July 13th, from 12:00 noon-8:00 p.m., in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where "Sharing of Memories" for Bob will be held at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will begin from the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14th, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4555 N. Haven, Toledo, Ohio. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Central Catholic High School, Toledo, OH 43608; c/o Robert J. and Marilyn J. (Miller) Schnapp Scholarship Fund.
