Robert Short Obituary

Robert "Bob" H. Short

Robert "Bob" H. Short, 68, of Waterville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2017. Bob was born on October 10, 1948 to Robert and Margaret (Curry) Short in Huntington, West Virginia. In the sixties and seventies Bob followed his passion for music, as a keyboardist and vocalist for bands such as Wes Charles and the Premiers, Oops, Smoke and The Entertainers. Bob was a gifted musician who played from his heart and sang with an amazing vocal range. Highlights of his career include sharing the stage with Ted Nugent and Three Dog Night. All his life he was a part of a close-knit Toledo-area rock music community.

On September 8, 1983 Bob married Phyllis Nicholson and they shared 33 years together. He spent the majority of his professional life in the residential construction and remodeling business. He retired from Yark Automotive Group in 2015. In addition to music, Bob most enjoyed being on the water, relaxing at his Florida condo and spending time with family and friends. Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his children, Robert, Jr., Carrie Short, Christopher (Anna) Short, Nicholas (Brittany) Short; and six grandchildren; brother, Scott (Janet); sisters, Jenny Franklin, Barbara Short, Sheri (Tim) Ankenbrandt, Toni (Tom) Graham; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Terry.

A Celebration of Life event will be held in July so friends and family can share memories and stories of Bob. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to CaringBridge.org, the American Red Cross, or a charity of the donor's choice. Bob's family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke's Hospital ICC for their compassionate care.
