Robert Shreves Obituary
Robert Paul Shreves, age 87, of Swanton Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 3, 2022, at Grand Rapids Care Center. Robert was a 1953 graduate of DeVilbiss High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served 2 years (MP and Honor Guard). Following honorable discharge, he attended the University of Toledo to earn a real estate license.
Over the years, Robert worked maintenance for several different employers, including Blair Realty, Goodwill Industries, Toledo Sports Arena, and Maumee Youth Center in Neapolis.
Robert was a 4-H advisor for over 30 years, mainly with the Buckeye Boys 4-H Club in Lucas County. He also enjoyed volunteering as a docent for the Blair Lithophane Museum. His favorite hobby was buying and selling antiques, which gave him the chance to not only search for treasures, but also meet many new people.
Surviving are Robert's loving wife of 62 years, Judith; children, Deborah (Greg) Swingholm, Christopher Shreves, Jennifer (Shawn) Quinn, and Bradley Shreves; grandaughter, Hannah Quinn; brother, Richard Shreves; as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins he was very close to. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Madeline (Flinchbaugh) Shreves, and sister, Carol Stepleton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday Nov 12th from 2-4 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. Private burial will be at a later date.

Sending my deepest condolences to Bob's family and loved ones. I worked at Maumee Youth Center (Human Resources) and had the pleasure of knowing Bob during the time he worked there. He always had an easy smile and a kind word. And, obviously, he was very humble. When I read Bob's obituary I was surprised to learn that he was a many-year 4H advisor....something he didn't share. Rest in peace, Bob. You made a difference in this world.
