Robert Sopher Obituary
Robert Floyd Sopher passed away peacefully on September 15, 2018 with family at his side. Bob was born February 23, 1937 in New Straitsville, Ohio to parents W. Jean and Floyd Sopher. A 1956 graduate of Libby High School, he served in the Marine Corps (Reserves) from 1955-1963. He worked as a flooring installer for 26 years becoming president and business representative for Flooring Installers local 1457, eventually serving as president of the Northwest Ohio District Council of Carpenters and as business representative of Interior Systems local 248. He was known for not compromising his belief of what was right even when that was not a popular choice and was most proud of receiving recognition from labor and management for facilitating working relations.
On January 4, 1969 he married his loving wife, Cheryl and she survives along with son, Jeffrey (Amy) their children Julia, Connor, and Gabriella; and son Gregory (Rena) and their children Megan and Cameron. He is further survived by a brother Ronald, nieces Kristen and Karyn and their families. Retired, he enjoyed grandpa activities with his always perfect grandchildren, fishing with them, attending their sporting events and music and theater productions. The lawn became his hobby, second only to attending "oldies" music concerts (Thank you Scotty Avig; The Shades of Blue especially Charles Davis).

The family will welcome guests on Saturday, September 22nd from 12-1 p.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 5445 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo followed by memorial services at 1 p.m. The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home is proud to be assisting the family with arrangements.
