Robert William Stenzel, 77, of Waterville, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 28, 2015, in his home. Bob was born to Frank and Esther Stenzel in Cleveland in 1938.

In 1962, he met Kay Fleagle on a blind date and later that year they married. Bob was a meat cutter by trade and began his career with Joseph's, Pope's IGA and retired from Foodtown. Beginning in the 70s, Bob was a volunteer fireman for the city of Waterville for fifteen years.

He was a huge sports fan, especially of baseball, suffering through many long seasons with the Cleveland Indians. He shared this passion with his wife, even spending their honeymoon at a Cleveland Indians game. In their retirement, Bob and Kay both worked as 3rd base ticket takers for the Toledo Mudhens at the new Fifth Third Field. He enjoyed going out to dinner and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kay; son, Robert William (Verna) Stenzel Jr. of Palmdale, California, Alisa (Charlie) Phillips, Lora and Vicki and sister, Linda (Jeff) Thirion. Papa leaves behind grandchildren, Steven, Tysen, Macksen and Maysen.

He was preceded in death by father, Frank (Thelma) Stenzel; mother, Esther (John) Hruby and two sisters.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 1 from 4-8 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd., Waterville, Ohio. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 2 at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Hayslett officiating. The family requests any donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
