Robert Sullivan Obituary
Robert "Bob" Emmet Sullivan, 86, died Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Melbourne, FL. Bob was born into an Irish family November 14, 1931, one of twin sons, to John and Mary Ann Hanley Sullivan. Siblings John and Irene predeceased him; his twin, Richard, survives him.
Bob grew up in Toledo where he attended Rosary Cathedral School, Central Catholic High School Class of 1949. He received his college degree from John Carroll University, Cleveland, OH. Upon graduation he joined the Navy and served on the destroyer USS Waldron as a gunnery officer for a three year tour of duty.
Bob began his business career with Arthur Young Co. In 1959 he married Marcia Gerken. They moved to Boston where he attended Harvard Business School on the GI Bill. During his career he worked at Chrysler Corp in Detroit and Dayton, joining Harris Corp in 1971 (Cleveland) moving with them to Melbourne, FL in 1978. He continued to work for them and Harris Graphics until retirement.
Bob was a firm believer in education and gave selflessly of his time and money to support numerous educational, community, and religious organizations, never forgetting his ties to Toledo.
Bob is survived by Richard J.; wife, Marcia; five children, Molly (Larry), Mike (Elizabeth), Brian (Kelly), David (Maria), Sheila (Jeff); 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Church, Indialantic, FL, Friday, July 27. Contributions may be made to Toledo Central Catholic or Brevard Alzheimer's Foundation.

I was saddened to hear the news of Bob's passing. I worked with Bob at Harris for a time and he was smart, kind, gracious and fair. I have very fond memories of the time we worked together and participated in first Fridays with Fr. Doug at FIT. Bob lived his religious beliefs and his positive demeanor was contagious. May he be in Paradise, enjoying the presence of our Lord right now!
