Robert Whitenack Obituary
Robert Lee Whitenack, aka "Bubba", age 90, of Toledo, OH passed away August 28, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 2, 1933 to Rev DV and Mildred Whitenack in Chicago, IL, later moving to Toledo, OH where he attended Woodward High School. He served in the US Army soon after marrying Marilyn (Lee) Whitenack April 25, 1953, and together they raised 5 children. Robert was an idea man which took him in many directions, sometimes doing more than one venture at a time. From Truck Dispatching to Dairy Queen Owning, from Ice Cream Trucking to Snow Plowing, from Hot Dog Carting to Restaurant Owning (Butterchurn and Ketch-A-Bite), from Bingo Hall Vending to Food Delivering (where he picked-up the nickname Bubba), and finally to Euchre Game Hosting. Surviving are his children, Penny Noyes, Charles (Debbie) Whitenack, and Kathy (Tim) Oehlers; son in-law, Henry Lester; and daughter in-law, Cindy Whitenack; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jessica) Noyes, Andrea (Brian) Hughes, Heather Spinelli, Charlie Whitenack, Erika Oehlers (Steve Robinson), Ryland Oehlers (Amanda Lillis), Elisha Whitenack, Robert Whitenack, Jr., and Sarah (Brandon) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Henry, Benjamin, Natalie, Jocelyn, and Emersyn; the many friends from euchre; and his dear friend, Betty. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife; children, Patti Jo Lester and Bobby Whitenack; siblings, Richard, Dottie, Mary and Bill; grandson, Joshua; and his dear friend, Marylou.
Viewing and service will take place Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623 from 3-7 p.m. with service starting at 7 p.m. Burial will be private. Family would like to thank Hospice of NW Ohio and Village Caregiving for their expert care during his final months of life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Special Olympics, Hospice of NW Ohio, or The American Cancer Society.
