Robin Deters Obituary
Robin Faith 6/28/1955 - 10/28/2016
Robin Faith Deters, a champion for the people, lost her courageous battle with lung cancer on Friday, October 28, 2016. Daughter of the late Nathan and Violet (Raeder) Forman, Robin was a dedicated activist, working with numerous organizations such as Toledo Area Jobs with Justice, Single-Payer Action Network, and Ohio Universal Health Care Action Network. She also worked on several Democratic campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels. A former Special Education Teachers Aide at Renhill Group, working with her “littles” brought her great joy. Robin was deeply loving with a generous heart, a contagious smile, a laugh that was larger than life, and possessed undeniable moxie! She may be gone but her spirit will live on through her family, friends, fellow activists, and all those whose lives she bettered with her own.
Robin leaves behind her loving husband, John Anthony Deters; daughter, Jennifer J. (Anthony) Ferrari; granddaughter, Ashley Eckhart; sister, Nina Ridgley; nephews, David and Darin Ridgley and their families.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on November 12, 2016 at Delaney's Lounge, 309 W. Alexis Road #3, Toledo, Ohio 43612 from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jobs with Justice, P.O. Box 13048, Toledo, Ohio 43613.
