Roger Warren Dodsworth

Roger W. Dodsworth, age 72, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Mercy Health-St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born on December 9, 1950, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Warren Oller. Roger was a 1968 graduate of Waite High School. He worked for over 31 years at the East Toledo Family Center where he positively impacted the lives of thousands East Toledoans both young and old over the years. Roger helped start the youth athletics program and became the assistant athletic director in 2004. Later in his career, he was named assistant Director of the East Toledo Family Center.

In his spare time, Roger enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones, taking time to help others enjoy their lives, walking through the parks, taking rides on his motorcycle, and playing on line video games. He would save a trinket from every experience. Be it a movie ticket stub, something small from a birthday party, a picture, or his brother's boy scout book from when they were children. His house was filled with these things each a memento of an experience for him to treasure the memories. He was never materialistic, his wealth was love for experiences and people in his life. In this way he was a very wealthy man with the biggest heart imaginable. He cared more for others than himself. He will be missed by many people.

Roger is survived by his son, Roger (Melissa) Dodsworth Jr.; daughter, Kathy Dodsworth; grandchildren, P.J. Boerst, Breanne Boerst, Katie Lynch, Amber Packard, Timothy Packard, and Trevor Pickard; great-grandchildren, Zelda, Ravyn, and Parker; brother, Thomas "Willy" Dodsworth; nieces, Emily Dodsworth and Nicole Schmoldt; and great-nephew, Lucas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private services will be held. Memorial contributions can be made in Roger's name to the East Toledo Family Center.
