Roger LAU Obituary

LAU Roger R. Roger R. Lau, 65, of Curtice, Ohio, died in his home Saturday, July 31, 2010. He was born May 3, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, to Herman A. and Edna A. (Dreier) Lau. Roger was a graduate of Oak Harbor High School. For over 25 years he worked as a machine operator for Champion Spark Plug retiring in the late 1980's. Roger's many hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping, and riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He especially loved horses, which he owned several over the years. Roger will be missed by his friends to whom he was very loyal. His survivors include his mother, Edna, of Genoa; sons, Dirk Lau of Toledo, Troy (Rebecca) Lau of Oldsmar, FL and Todd (Crystal) Lau of Florida; grandchildren, Christian, Trina and Tyler; and sisters, Hermine (Marv) Sondergeld of Toledo, Ruth (Chuck) Dewitz of Oak Harbor and Betty (Ron) Martin of Macedonia, OH. His father preceded him in death. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010, in the Robinson - Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430. The funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010, in the funeral home with interment to follow in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions to the Allen-Clay Joint Fire Dist. #1, 21016 W. Toledo St., Williston, OH 43468, or to the donor's choice. Roger will be missed by all his friends. He brought a lot of laughter and good will to all of us. He was a very interesting man to talk to, and his love for animals was well known. We will always remember him with a smile and keep him in our hearts and our prayers. We will also keep all of his loved ones in our prayers and know that our hearts are saddened by your loss.
