Rose Shake Obituary

SHAKE Rose Ella (Sheehan) Rose E. (Sheehan) Shake, age 78, of Toledo, departed this world for a better place on Sunday, November 11, 2007. She was born November 25, 1928, to Verna and Charles Sheehan. Rose worked for many years as a book-keeper for Lutz Bakery, Toledo Bookbinding and City Auto Stamping. She spent 40 years as a resident of Winona Rd in Toledo. Rose often enjoyed "classic" monster movies, crossword puzzles, gardening and Max the gorilla from the Toledo Zoo. She was an avid bowler and a member of the Jackman Mother's Club League since 1970. Rose was also an active member of the Fairgreen Presbyterian Church since 1971. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many. She cherished spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Heidet, Audrey Shanteau and brothers, Carol and Lou Sheehan. Soul mates, Rose and Robert celebrated their 56th anniversary on March 24, 2007 and together have led a full and adventurous life. Rose is survived by her loving husband, Robert; daughter, Barb (Steve) Yahn, of Kabul, Afghanistan; sons, Jim (Toni), of Lambertville, MI, Mike (Rita), of Sylvania and Chuck (Madelyn) Shake, of Toledo; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grand-children; brother, Robert (Erma) Sheehan and many nieces, nephews and other very dear family members and friends. The family will receive guests on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) from 2 - 4:00 p.m. and 6 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will begin Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Harborside Healthcare of Sylvania for their loving care of Rose. It made a difference! Those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2500 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43615. Even though I did not knok Rose E. Shake she will be missed. I am friends with Nichole Freiheit and I know that she will always be missed by her family........ I'm sorry for the loss in your family.
