Rudy Mae Shaheen

SHAHEEN Rudy Mae Rudy Mae Shaheen passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 29, 2006. Born on September 10, 1937 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Toledo became her home two years later when her parents made the move to Ohio. She graduated from Waite High School in 1956 and married Mohammed Shaheen on June 17th of that year. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary this past June. Rudy will be remembered most for her devotion to her children and even more so to her grandchildren who were the sunshine of her days. One of her greatest joys was cooking for her family and she was happiest when in their company. Rudy had many dear friends who held a special place in her heart as well, and she will be sadly missed by all who knew the laughter she could bring. She was preceded in death by her father O.B. Olive; her mother, Naffe Olive, and a brother Omar Olive. She is survived by her husband, Mohammed; sons, Cassim (Barb), Kamel (Sherry), Nazem (Robyn), David (Elisa) and daughter Aneesa (Salim); brothers, Jimmy Olive, Sammy (Kathy) Olive and Yussef (Judy) Olive, and grandchildren Gibran, Shadiyah, Nahdia, Neena, David Jr., Amr, Layla, Allick, Angela and Coral. Funeral services and prayers were held on Saturday, December 30, 2006, at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo. Rudy was laid to rest at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
