Ruth (Mahler)

Ruth (Mahler) Scheer, age 97 years, formerly of Mt. Vernon, New York and Coconut Creek, Florida, died Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Kingston Care Center of Sylvania. She had moved to Toledo from Florida in 2005.

Ruth was born in New York City on October 30, 1916, to Hugo and Minnie (Kretzer) Kirschbaum.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Mahler and Harold Scheer; sister, Jeanette Levine, and great-grandson, Addison Mahler.

Surviving are her sons, Edward (Susan) Mahler, Andrew (Vickie) Mahler and Fred (Ruth) Mahler; stepdaughter, Judy Scheer; seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Services and interment will be held in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings on the Hudson, New York.

Memorial donations are suggested to the charity of the donors choice.

Robert H. Wick/ Wisniewski Funeral Home (419-535-5840) in charge of arrangements.
