Sandra Norwalk Obituary

Sandra L. Smith Norwalk, 66, of Genoa, died Monday, January 23, 2006, in St. Charles-Mercy Hospital, Oregon, after a lengthy illness. Sandy was born November 14, 1939, in Adrian, MI, to Mr. and Mrs. Roderick. On June 26, 1992, in Las Vegas she married Keith Norwalk and he survives. Sandy worked as a dental assistant and bookkeeper for her husband, Keith Norwalk, DDS in Genoa from 1990-present. Previously she had worked as the food and beverage manager at the Blue Herron Ohio Turnpike plaza for five years.
Sandy graduated from Bowling Green High School and attended St. John's United Church of Christ in Genoa. She enjoyed camping, music, dancing, horticulture-especially a green thumb for plants and flowers--and roller coasters! In her younger years she performed as a vocalist on the radio in northwest Ohio. Sandy had an effervescent personality, full of passion, with an absolute stalwart love for her children. She was a very courageous and strong-willed person.
In addition to her husband, Keith, Sandy is survived by her children, Mark A. Smith of Uncasville, CT and Casey K. (Forrest) Hill of Reno, NV, grandchildren, Leah Martin and Ashlee Hill, and great-grandchild, Maddelynn; stepson, Brian K. Norwalk of Toledo, stepgrandson, Jordan T. Hill; and stepbrothers, Gerald Bryant of Toledo and James Bryant of Orfordsville, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roger Keith Smith, and sister, Bonnie Barret.
Visitation will be 12-4 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2006, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Genoa, with funeral services to be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in St. John's United Church of Christ, Genoa. Private committal services will be held Thursday in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore. Keith, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Sorry we can't be with you as we are in AZ for the winter. We remember the good times, like Valentines when the 4 of us went out to eat and had a wonderful evening together. May God watch over you and the family. Ron & Faye

I see Sandy's white angel wings. I see her smiling, free of pain flying high towards Roger and singing "Celebrate good times come on!"
