Sandra Sharpless Obituary

Sandra Sharpless

December 15, 1950 - November 22, 2024

Sandra Lee Sharpless, 73, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away in her cozy and loving home on November 22, 2024, after a trying battle with cancer.

Sandy was born on December 15, 1950 to the union of Phyllis Keller and Alfred LaCourse. Sandy graduated from Woodward High School in 1969, and thereafter, she worked in various secretarial positions while raising her family.

After a brief marriage with Stan St. Clair, she married Keith L. Sharpless on June 7, 1980. Keith and Sandy raised two children, Stan and Emily. Sandy enjoyed spending time outdoors, doing yard work and gardening. She loved to can produce, and she made a terrific salsa. She also enjoyed scouring antique stores for treasures that made her house a home. Sandy was quick-witted; she enjoyed teasing friends and family- especially while playing games. Her greatest joy, though, was holding the title "Grammy."

Sandy was predeceased by her grandparents, Arthur and Virginia Keller; and her parents, Phyllis and Alfred LaCourse. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Keith; an older brother, Phil LaCourse (Cathy); a little sister, Kim Leonhard; a son, Stan St. Clair (Tanya); a daughter, Emily Schifko (John); 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sandy also left behind her "family down south" whom she loved and cherished.

Services will be private. An open-house to celebrate Sandy's life will be held at her daughter's home in Sylvania on Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 11-5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family thanks Lori from Southern Care Hospice for her care and guidance, as well as Tim Rabara for his spiritual support during Sandy's journey.
