Scot Sliwinski Obituary

Scot Sliwinski

Scot Sliwinski passed away suddenly in his home on August 8th, 2022. Scot lived for his family, traveling, and making others laugh. Born in Toledo, Ohio, to Joseph and Vera Sliwinski on September 24, 1962, he attended Rogers High School and graduated in 1980. Soon after high school Scot met his great love and husband of almost 40 years, Dr. Michael Wade. They lived in Toledo, St. Louis, and Phoenix, and enjoyed weekend travel to homes in San Diego, Portland and Puerto Vallarta. Scot was everyone's favorite Uncle and would make any kid smile within a few moments of knowing them.

Scot was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sliwinski; great niece and nephews, Sabrina and Bridge Hoffman and Gavin Foley. Scot is survived by his mother, Vera; his husband, Michael; his 3 sisters and 5 brothers, Dorothy (Lewis) Fowler, Joseph Russel (Norma) Sliwinski, Mary (Gary) Butler, Robert (Debra) Sliwinski, Howard (Deborah) Sliwinski, William (Sandra) Sliwinski, Julie (Timothy) Eighmey, James Sliwinski; and brother-in-law Mark, (Laurie) Wade. His memory is carried on in the hearts of his numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews; and even great great nieces and great great nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Scot's name to The Trevor Project.

Scot could light up a room. And when we talked, he made me feel as if I were the most important person in that room.

I will miss you and our conversations during the morning workouts.

cheers!

Scot,

You will be missed so very much by the both of us. You were always a ray of sunshine and happiness. We loved when we were able to spend time with Mike and you (never enough time to be sure) and will miss you.

May you rest in peace until we meet again.

He brought joy to all who knew him and when I lost my partner to a sudden death in 1992, he and mike hosted me in their home and literally waited on me hand and foot. But for their care and comfort, I'm not sure I would've recovered so quickly to care for my own kid. Love and miss you always, Scot-o. You'll never be forgotten! Hugs to you and your family!
