Scott A. Blake, 59, of Los Angeles, passed away after a battle with leukemia on September 8, 2025, at the City of Hope Hospital, Duarte, CA. He was born in and was a long-time resident of Toledo, OH, to the late Edwin R. Blake and Beverly A. Blake (McIntosh). Scott is survived by brother, Edwin R. Blake, Jr. (Pamela Swink-Blake); niece, Johanna S. Blake; and nephews, Edwin R. Blake III (Trey) and Ian M. Blake.

Scott graduated from Whitmer High School in 1984, and went on to get a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Toledo. During this time, Scott was employed by Patent Graphics and began creating drawings for patent applications. Upon receiving his degree, he dismayed his father by requesting to attend UT School of Law, to obtain a JD and work as a Patent Attorney. Even though he didn't recall applying, Scott was later employed by MacMillan, Sobanski & Todd from 1996-2014.

Scott's sense of adventure led him to a free-spirited lifestyle in 2015. Always a high technology enthusiast and fascinated by the EV revolution, he purchased his first Tesla, left his career, and moved to California to drive for the ride-sharing apps. He successfully made his free-spirit life work to his satisfaction. He enjoyed setting his own schedule, watching Space X lift-offs, and driving across the country frequently to visit family and friends.

A kind-hearted soul and often the life of the party, Scott was also the 'fun' uncle to not only his niece and nephews, but the children of other friends and cousins as well. Scott cherished times with family, law school friends, MST friends, and his multiple cousins in Toledo, as well as Alabama and Texas. Scott will be dearly missed by many close family members and friends.

A burial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Resurrection Cemetery, 5725 Hill Ave., Toledo, OH. A Celebration of Scott's Life will be held afterwards.
